Scholarships Descriptions
The Chancellor's Scholarship Programs are merit scholarships awarded to talented people from diverse backgrounds (African American, Hispanic/Latino, Native American, Southeast Asian or socioeconomically disadvantaged including rural or farm. The Programs are committed to assisting scholars in their pursuit of excellence.

<ul> <li> Applicants must plan to enroll as a new freshman in the fall following graduation from high school</li> <li> Be a member of one of the following groups:</li> <ol> <li> African American</li> <li> American Indian</li> <li> Hispanic/Latino</li> <li> Southeast Asian (Cambodian, Hmong, Laotian, or Vietnamese)</li> <li> Socioeconomically disadvantaged including rural students with a farming background</li> </ol> <li> Demonstrate outstanding academic performance (3.0/4.0 GPA or higher in academic units)</li> <li> Be a U.S. citizen</li> </ul> A faculty/staff committee carefully reviews each eligible application and selects scholars on the basis of their demonstrated academic success in high school, involvement in school/community organizations, leadership skills, and abilities to excel in the university's rigorous educational environment.
