L&S Career Services Summer Internship Scholarship

Programs Offering this Scholarship

This scholarship provides amounts ranging from $2,000 to $5,000 each to help students take advantage of and enable them to participate in a first time internship opportunity that is unpaid or provides a limited stipend.

Eligibility Criteria

Preference will be given to students who have NOT had any internship experiences to date related to their personal/professional goals. Preference will also be given to students who seek internships that are in the non-profit, humanitarian, scientific research (non-profit) or government sectors. University of Wisconsin-Madison alumni Allan Reznick and Carolyn Henderson Reznick, George and Jane Shinners, and Gerald and Joy Picus are the sponsors of these funds.

How to Apply

Selection Criteria

Finalists will be interviewed by the selection committee before a final decision is made. Applicants will be individually notified of the decision regarding their application by May 1, 2017.

Donor Information

Due to the generosity of the Henderson-Reznick family, the Shinners family and the Picus family we are able to provide a number of scholarships in the amounts ranging from $2,000 to $5,000 each to help students take advantage of and enable them to participate in a first time internship opportunity that is unpaid or provides a limited stipend. The scholarships are designed for students who ordinarily would not be able to partake in an internship opportunity without the assistance of the scholarship funds.

Conditions of Award

1) Must be an L&S student; 2) Graduating in December 2017 or May/August 2018; 3) Must be in residence during the 2017-2018 Academic Year; 4) Must have an internship offer; 5) Must be enrolled in an approved UW-Madison internship course; 6) The internship program must last a minimum of 6 weeks and involve a minimum of 240 hours of work.
