Worldwide Internship Program Grant

Funds to support undergraduate students with financial need who participate in the Worldwide Internship Program, a credit-bearing online course taken while students are engaged in an internship outside their country of origin. (Students doing the WIP online course with programs such as TEAN or SCORE/SUPER-G are also eligible.)

Eligibility Criteria

Continuing undergraduate students with a GPA of 2.5 or greater and who have unmet financial need are eligible for the Worldwide Internship Program Grant.

How to Apply

First apply for the Worldwide Internship Program (to propose your own internship for credit) or an internship in the IIP Database. You do not need to have an accepted offer yet to apply. Complete the WIP Grant application through Scholarships@UW.

Selection Criteria

Students must have secured or be in the process of securing an internship outside their home country for a minimum of 6 weeks and 120 hours of work. Students must also be willing to contribute to outreach when they return to campus.

Award Information

Students will receive ~$750 toward the WIP program fee (approximately $1000 to $2750 depending on number of credits, term and residency). The number of awards depends on number of applicants and funds available annually.

Conditions of Award

Students must participate in the Worldwide Internship Program which includes an online course taken while overseas in conjunction with an internship. Students must do outreach upon return to campus. Students who do not successfully complete the course, the internship, or post internship outreach will have the funds revoked. Previous recipients are not eligible for a second award.
